cadett ELSA is a complete electrical design system for all types of users. cadett ELSA is easy to use. You can start working with cadett ELSA as a simple and rational documentation tool. At the same time, cadett ELSA covers even the most advanced user's needs for flexibility and automation.

With cadett ELSA View you can only see, not touch. It doesn't need AutoCAD. cadett ELSA Basic,cadett ELSA Professionalandcadett ELSA Enterpriseused in conjunction with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
cadett ELSA Basic covers basic needs while cadett ELSA Professional has advanced features such as connection management and translation.

cadett ELSA Professional Solo and cadett ELSA Enterprise Solo works in exactly the same way as cadett ELSA Professional and cadett ELSA Enterprisebut has a built-in integrated CAD engine and therefore does not require a separate AutoCAD.
cadett ELSA LT is a complete software for electrical design with built-in genuine AutoCAD at a very attractive price. You get a powerful design tool that is easy to use with powerful automation. cadett ELSA LT covers the basic needs of most and can be upgraded for even more advanced functionality.
The Project Manager of cadett ELSA keeps track of all projects. The same tree structure is available to all users. You can make multiple parallel structures for the same projects for maximum availability. For example, you can have a plant-oriented and an organisation-oriented subdivision at the same time.
Multiple users can work on the same project at the same time with full OnLine automation, even between users.
Several projects can be linked together in so-called super projects. Then you get references between projects too.
The drawing environment makes it easy and efficient to create circuit diagrams. The OnLine Engine is fully integrated.
A project can be managed in an arbitrary number of revisions at the same time where all revisions are accessible. Lists of differences containing changed devices, wires, cables, and documents between any revisions, can be generated automatically.
The OnLine Engine helps the designer directly in the drawing process. No waiting! Choose a contactor. You get the coil and contact mirror. You get help with the reference designation. Existing auxiliary contacts receive contact numbers, and cross-references directly. New help contacts get the correct connection numbers. You can choose from all available unused contacts. If there is no available contact, you will be informed. Everything is easy to use and simple with dialogur boxes. Just "click"!
Connection management is also OnLine. You'll be notified immediately of any faults in your connections. Everything is clearly displayed with graphics directly on the screen.
The functionality for managing PLC's and other control systems is well-developed. For each I/O, in addition to the reference designation and other component-related data, you can manage the connection number, I/O number, symbolic address and several comment lines. This information is mirrored bidirectionally and OnLine between I/O symbols and PLC mirrors, which provide a perfect overview of the entire I/O board. Information corresponding to I/O lists can be easily exported and imported, for example via Excel.
At any time during the drawing process, you can call up a parts list, symbol list, cable core list, terminal list, or internal wire list at the touch of a button. Directly on the screen. You can change whatever you want. The changes are immediately reflected in the drawing sheets. OnLine!
cadett ELSA has seven symbol libraries with a total of over 5000 symbols. International standards according to IEC1082 and IEC113 are supported. In addition, older German DIN standards, American JIC and international ISO1219 for hydraulics and pneumatics are supported. An SSG-inspired symbol library for instrumentation is integrated with IEC1082. Finally, an extensive library of cabinet layout symbols is available.
The interactive Symbol Generator makes it easy to create your own symbols - and it is quick.
The Drawing Manager keeps track of the drawing sheets in the project. Title field, index card and archive database are fully configurable. The Drawing Manager provides exceptional performance. You can make changes to the title fields of hundreds of drawing sheets in an instant!
cadett ELSA includes a high-quality embedded viewer. You can view and print drawing sheets without using AutoCAD. It is many times faster than with AutoCAD.
You can have an automatic selection of cabinet layout symbols. The cabinet layout is automatically linked to your circuit diagrams cross-references. The connection generation (wire numbering) takes into account the cabinet layout for wiring optimization.
The automation of cadett ELSA is always optional. You can mix freely and do some parts manually and other parts automatically. The automation always takes into account what you have done manually.

cadett ELSA includes a complete management of article catalogues. It is easy to add new articles, to search and to modify. There is room for price information, stock balances, etc.
The catalogue is based on client/server technology. This provides good performance even with large amounts of data and many simultaneous users.
It is easy to import catalogue data from suppliers. Text files, databases and Excel sheets can be imported. Other formats can also be imported by first converting them to one of the supported formats.
The import feature takes into account changes you have made when re-importing catalogue data, such as next year's catalogue. Manually made changes will not be overwritten.
The File Manager takes care of backup and archiving on any medium. You can use compression.
With the report generator you can create all kinds of lists. Among others, the following are available by default:
It is easy to create your own reports. The reports can be generated as AutoCAD drawing sheets, text files, or Excel sheets.
External connection diagrams are generated automatically. You can influence the appearance and content with simple configurations.
The cadett ELSA Professional includes a complete cable harnessing module. Both cable and wire diagrams are created via this module and can also be checked against the corresponding circuit diagram.
The built-in Option Handling allows you to define arbitrary options consisting of parts spread over many sheets. The options are activated or deactivated as required; a deactivated option is not visible and does not appear in reports and the like.
At the heart of cadett ELSA is the PDS automation server, which handles all project-related data. The open interface makes it not only possible but also very easy to transfer data to and from cadett ELSA, from and to other software. For example, you can transfer the device list to Excel, change the data there and then read the information back to cadett ELSA. PDS updates the drawing sheets automatically!
All functionality in cadett ELSA can be controlled remotely using ActiveX. This can be used, for example, to automatically generate PLC diagrams from I/O lists.
The Script Generator lets you process multiple drawing sheets at once. For example, plotting, changing an incorrect symbol or anything else that needs to be done in the same way in several drawing sheets.
With the help of the built-in PDF generator, you can create a complete and intelligent PDF file for your entire project at the touch of a button. Bookmarks, hyperlinks for cross-referencing and many other features can be used.
Text in the drawing sheets can be translated between any number of languages via a built-in dictionary. You can easily expand the dictionary with more words or expressions that you want to be able to translate. Full Unicode support allows you to translate even into languages with alphabets other than our own, such as Chinese or Greek.
The installer handles all types of installations, from simple new local installations to more complex network installations where user data must be retrieved from several different legacy installations.
Incremental updates are available directly via the Internet. This provides a very simple installation procedure for revisions (free service updates).
A major version update is released every year. If you sign a service contract, you will receive a subscription to all new versions at a fixed annual cost. It is also possible to buy the updates as "single issues", for those who prefer that option.
You can import any user data from other installations of cadett ELSA at any time. This is useful in a number of situations. For example, after installing a new version, the first thing you do is to import all user data such as projects, symbols, catalogues, etc. from the previous version. You can do the same kind of import between, for example, a laptop with a local installation and a network installation of cadett ELSA. This is very useful if, for example, you want to be able to continue working on your projects from home or when you are travelling.
I cadett ELSA Enterprise it is also possible to perform a remote import of user data without affecting or being affected by users currently running the product.
cadett ELSA Enterprise supports the use of thin clients. This solution delivers superior performance, even with limited bandwidth between workstation and server. 10 Mbps is sufficient, making it possible to work over the internet or in slow networks with full efficiency.
cadett ELSA has a built-in functionality to check-out projects for travel. Projects that have been checked out, are locked for other users until they are checked in again.
With cadett ELSA Enterprise you also have the possibility to check-out and check-in projects "remotely", directly from where you are, even over a slow connection, like a mobile phone.
License management in cadett ELSA is handled optionally by one of three available methods:
All cadett ELSA licenses are floating. You are free to move licenses between computers as needed. The difference is the technical solution used, i.e. how you go about moving the license from one computer to another.
The documentation is primarily in English.
cadett ELSA is a multi-user system. For the best performance, modern technologies such as client/server solutions are used. To install cadett ELSA as a multi-user system in a network, access to a Windows server is required. cadett ELSA can also be installed as a single user system on a local computer.
