With the first check-box in the WAN mode settings dialogue shown in the figure above, you can enable WAN mode.
If the WAN mode check-box is checked, the latency is measured when cadett ELSA is started. If the network is slower than the threshold that you select, WAN mode will be automatically enabled. If not, WAN mode will not be used.
This is practical if you for example have a portable computer which sometimes is used in the same LAN as the server, and sometimes remotely connected with for example VPN. The choice between using WAN mode or not is then done automatically.
