Spare cable cores calculated using numbering algorithms

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If no cable mirror is available, a possible numbering algorithm assigned to the cable will be used to calculate the spare cores. If no algorithm is assigned, no spares will be calculated. The assignment of numbering algorithms to cables are made through the catalogue. The index that is specified in the cable main symbol in the circuit diagram, refers to a resource in the catalogue, which describes what kind of cable it is. In the catalogue, an algorithm and a limit are defined for the cable type in question. The algorithm describes the numbering and the limit the number of cable cores in the cable.

An assigned numbering algorithm like described above, can be used not only to calculate spare cores, but also to achieve automatic cable core numbering.

Numbering algorithms are numbering series, which can also be used to number terminals. Numbering algorithms are created and maintained in the Numbering algorithms tab of the Settings module.
