In this topic, a number of special features of the Script Generator are discussed, like the ability to run script sequences for multiple projects at once, or to run multiple script sequences at once, and much more.

Sub-routines
To simplify the design of your script sequences, you can define "sub-routines" as separate script sequences.

 

More than one project
You can run a script sequence on more than one project at once.

 

Both SOURCE and TARGET
Instead of selecting either the drawing sheets of the SOURCE directory or the TARGET directory, it is in fact possible to select both.

 

More than one script sequence
You can run multiple script sequences at once on the same drawing sheets.

 

Printing script sequences
For documentation purposes, it is possible to print your script sequences on paper or to a PDF file.

 

Convert old script sequences
Script Sequences from cadett ELSA 5.5 and older (the DOS version of the Script Generator) can be converted to the current format.

Syntax checking and Command dictionary
The syntax checking provides a tool to find errors by checking the spelling of the commands within your script sequences.

 

Script Generator Settings
Using the settings, you can specify some basic aspects of how the Script Generator does its job.

 

Import and export of script sequences
You can transfer script sequences from one installation of  cadett ELSA to another. Please note however, that in a network installation of cadett ELSA, the script sequences are typically common for all workstations, meaning that no such transfer is needed.

 

Running PLOT script sequences from the Drawing Environment
It is possible to run script sequences directly from the Drawing Environment, without entering the Script Generator in the normal way that has been described here. Such script sequences are used for the current sheet only and should be designed for example to plot the current sheet.
