In the Composition of potential reference names section, you define how the potential reference names should be composed. Potential reference names are assembled of separate parts, in a similar way as item designations and cross-references are.

cadett ELSA can automatically complete a specified potential reference name, for instance L1, with plant and/or location so that you will get, for instance, =A1;L1. In that way you can have several L1's in different parts of your project, without any interference. L1 that belongs to one plant/function is regarded as another L1 than one that belongs to a different plant/function. In other words, they will not be connected, as long as the plant designation differ them.

To be able to perform such a completion, the way potential reference names are composed must be defined. The section that is discussed here contains that definition.

A separate sub-topic named How to edit the composition describes how you edit it.

A table describing all available parts and how they are used, is found in a separate sub-topic named Parts for potential reference names.

The check-box labelled Synchronise separator character with conventional devices is described in a separate sub-topic of its own.
