Regenerate

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The OnLine Engine continuously keeps the OnLine database updated, with all project related data. Normally, this means that the database and the content of the drawing sheets are synchronised. The content of the database then corresponds to the content of the drawing sheets.

Sometimes however, this synchronisation is broken. This could for instance happen if you edit a drawing sheet outside of cadett ELSA, for instance using “pure AutoCAD”. Naturally, that would result in the database not being updated. In other words, it would have an incorrect content.

Even during “ordinary use”, problems with the synchronisation between database and drawing sheets may occur. You will notice that by the appearance of “ghost errors”. That could be an error message about a symbol that does not exist or, the other way around, that something that unquestionably exists does not seem to do so.

In all such situations there is a simple cure, namely, to regenerate the OnLine database.

You regenerate the OnLine database, with the OnLine Settings command. In the OnLine section of the dialogue box, to the left, , you will find a Regenerate button.

Sometimes, that button is greyed out and not possible to use.

oIn that case, click OK to exit the dialogue box.

oThereafter, save the drawing sheet by selecting the SaveDXF command in the File tab.

oReturn to the OnLine Settings dialogue box with the OnLine Settings… command in the Alternatives panel of the Tools tab.

oAfter this operation, the Regenerate button is no longer greyed out. Therefore, you can use it.

Click the Regenerate button. The OnLine database will be regenerated, which means that it will be updated with all information that is present in the drawing sheets of the project.

After that, you can be 100 % sure that the content of the database in fact corresponds to the content of the drawing sheets.

This is standard method number 1 to fix problems with the OnLine Engine.
