This tab is a bit special and is only available for text files. You can specify a sample file using the Select example file button in the upper left corner.

 

A preview is then provided of how the example file will be interpreted given the specifications that you have made in the previous tabs.

 

Especially for Fixed field length text files, this is very useful, since errors of single characters when it comes to field lengths, will inevitably lead to corrupt data, where some characters that were intended for one field will end up in another. The preview makes it easy to see when errors are present, to find out what is wrong, and even to determine what should be done to resolve the errors.
