Connect hardware lock

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

To be able to run cadett ELSA, a valid license must be present. Such a license can be provided in four different ways:

A local hardware lock

A server based hardware lock

A software based license server locally on the workstation

A software based license server centrally on a server

For general information about cadett ELSA licensing, please refer to the topic named exactly that.

If you are using a local hardware-lock, that lock must be connected to you computer, and the necessary drivers must be installed before you can proceed to run the program.

When a workstation installation is made, the necessary drivers for a possible local hardware lock are automatically installed. This means that if you are using a local hardware lock, you will normally not have to do anything else than connecting the hardware lock to the computer on which you have installed the cadett ELSA workstation.

The appropriate time to connect a local hardware lock is now. If you are going to use any of the other ways of licensing, please proceed to the next step directly.

A detailed description of possible hardware-lock installation problems and solutions is found in the Hardware locks topic.

The next step is to start cadett ELSA. Please refer to the description in the next topic, which is listed below.
