If you active this feature, cadett ELSA will switch mode and start handling item designations according to the methodology for separator character independent item designations.

 

 

This, in short, means that the item designation composition is tied to the attributes of the symbols without any regard to separator characters. The configuration of the Composition of item designations in the Item designations 2 tab will then work differently.
