With this check-box, you decide if a new item designation should be generated when a main symbol is moved.

 

•For item designations according to the IEC standard, a generation of a new item designations when a symbol is moved, is somewhat unnatural. Inactive is therefore the natural choice for IEC.

 

•For item designations according to the old DIN standard, where the position in the circuit diagram of the main symbol (often both sheet number and column) is used as part of the item designation, the situation is another. In that case, it is quite natural and logical to regenerate the item designation when a main symbol is moved.

 

The Composition of item designation is therefore very relevant to how this project parameter should be set.
