Help symbols that are not contacts

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

A help symbol that should not be booked on a contact mirror, for one reason or the other, should typically be given a function code with the number of connection points set to 0 (zero). Otherwise, if a contact mirror exists for the item designation in question, and a free position in the contact mirror does not exist, the connection point numbers of the help symbol will be overwritten with asterisks, signalling that booking has failed. A function code with zero connection points will prevent that.

Help symbols that should not be subject to mirror booking may actually have any number of connection points. None of them will be affected by mirror booking.
