Cabinet layout symbols

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This sub-topic deals with cabinet layout symbols for conventional devices.

To create a cabinet layout symbol defined as a genuine "intelligent" cadett ELSA symbol, the Circuit diagram document type must be initialised.

The graphics must be drawn in scale 1:10.

If for example the device that you create a cabinet layout symbol for has physical dimensions 70 x 100 x 90 mm (width x height x depth), you should draw it 7 mm wide and 10 mm high if you create a 2D symbol. If you create a 3D symbol, which is also possible, you should add a height of 9 mm.

When the final symbol is inserted, the current scale is taken into account based on the assumption that the symbol was created in scale 1:10.

The symbol type should be set to 02. Conventional help symbol.

The function code should be set to LAYSYM.

Cabinet layout symbols should not have any connection points.

An index attribute is useful in cabinet layout symbols for a number of reasons, so adding such an attribute is a good idea.
