Thereafter, select a proper Symbol type. Among the types that you can select from, you will find conventional main symbols and help symbols. The main symbols symbolise devices, and the help symbols are appendices to the main symbols. Normally the help symbols themselves do not represent any devices, but they can do so together with main symbols.

 

Contact mirrors are used to “refer backwards” to the help symbols.

 

Terminals is another alternative, which represent a symbol type of its own.

The laser siren in our example though represents a quite ordinary conventional main symbol. Please select that type!
