In some cases, it can be of interest to separate between three types of links, namely internal, external, and ones “in the middle”. A feature that presents these separated from each other exists in both Dynamic OnLine I, and in the Report Generator.

 

The term “short links” corresponds to links in the middle of the terminals, which only can connect neighbouring terminals, meaning that cannot make “jumps”. “Long links”, on the other hand, corresponds to other links, meaning the ones that are not short.

 

If the technique to separate short links is used, first a conventional link analysis is performed according to the rules for that, and in accordance with the linking limitations defined in the catalogue. After that, it is examined which of the resulting links that can be considered as “short links”, meaning links that goes between neighbouring terminals. These can then be seen as short links, and presented as such. Those are presented separately and removed from the long links.
