Renumber drawing sheets

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Renumber drawing sheets feature is primarily intended to be used in combination with the Adjust filenames according to field content feature, which is described in the previous sub-topic.

When filenames are automatically adjusted to include for example function/plant and/or location, the sheet numbering also needs an update in accordance with the information that has been added to the filenames. A renumbering of the newly created reports can be made by the Drawing Manager, which has a powerful feature that is suitable for this purpose.

If you activate the Renumber drawing sheets check-box in the report definition, a command will be sent to the Drawing Manager, after the report has been generated, and the filenames have been adjusted. That command will tell the Drawing Manager to execute the Renumber drawing sheets feature for all sheets in the directory where the reports have been placed. That directory is normally the TARGET directory.

Please note that using the SOURCE directory for reports, is a bad idea from start. To combine it with the Renumber drawing sheets feature is even worse. It is in fact a secure path to disaster. Please do not go that path!

Nevertheless, you will find a complete documentation of the Renumber drawing sheets feature in the Drawing Manager topic, and more specifically in a sub-topic named Renumber drawing sheets. Please refer to that sub-topic.
