Document number (drawing number)

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Here you decide if redundancy reduction should be performed for any possible Document number in the-cross references.

If that reduction should take other parts into account or not, is controlled by the Also inside cross-references parameter.

Please pay attention to the difference between "document number" and "sheet number".

Drawing number and Document number are two words for the same thing. The latter is the most accurate denomination according to current IEC standards.

A cadett ELSA project often corresponds to one electrical drawing consisting of multiple sheets. Please note that the relationship does not necessarily needs to be 1:1. A project may also contain multiple drawings, but the main point here, is that a "drawing" with a "drawing number" in most cases consists of multiple drawing sheets, with individual sheet numbers. Many drawing sheets may share the same drawing number, and may be separated by sheet numbers and/or other proper designations, like Document kind Classification Codes or others.

The document number is specified in the title field in a separate block named DWGNO, with an attribute also named DWGNO. Please note, that if you have a document number in your title field that is defined in any other way, for instance as part of the main title field block, that document number will be "non-intelligent" and therefore not possible to use in cross-references.
