The Item designation 3 tab primarily deals with item designations in general, the behaviour in the Drawing environment with respect to them, and specifically terminals and connectors.

The tab is divided in three main sections, which are listed below and which are described in separate sub-topics reachable using the provided links.
•The first section - Terminals and connectors - contains the definition of the composition of item designations for terminals and connectors.
•The second section - Drawing environment settings - is of major significance in most occasions where an automatic generation of item designations is desired, but also in some other situations in the Drawing environment.
•In the third section - Redundancy reduction - you define how redundancy reduction is performed. This is done with settings that are common for all four types of item designations.
