Always load wire list

This setting controls the behaviour of the Collect feature, which you access with the Collect button in the toolbar.

For the terminal list, Collect can be used in two ways:

It updates the terminal list with any possible changes that have been made in the drawing sheets, for instance in the Drawing Environment.

It updates the terminal list with any possible changes in the settings for how the presentation should be made, which for instance could be the presentation of short links, presentation of connectors, or similar.

When changes in the OnLine database have been detected, in other words if changes in the project have been made that make the content of the terminal list out of date, all connection data will be re-read once you select Collect. The Always load wire list setting will be disregarded in that situation. A change of this kind is indicated with the special icon in the lower right corner which is shown in the figure below.

Figure 1191: The icon to the right shows that the currently presented list is not fully updated. Click the “Collect” button to the left to solve the problem!

If the terminal list, however, is completely updated and the only thing you are interested in is changing the presentation by changing some of the settings for that, it is unnecessary to re-read all connection data again. That data will be unchanged since the last time you read it. In that situation, the here described feature comes in handy.

If you activate Always load wire list, the connection data will always be re-read when you Collect, even if Dynamic OnLine I has not detected a need for it. This is safer but more time consuming.

If you instead deactivate Always load wire list, connection data will only be re-read when Dynamic OnLine I considers it to be needed, meaning when the OnLine Engine reports that a change has taken place. This is faster but more reliant on OnLine correctly reporting any possible changes. In other words, it is less safe.
