Mainly, the installation of a revision update involves replacing certain files with new versions of the same files, and moving the corresponding original files to a backup folder. Some files, like database files (DBF) and configuration files (INI) may be modified instead of replaced. Backups of the original unmodified versions will be handled similarly.

The backup of the old files will be placed in a sub-folder structure placed in a sub-folder of cadett ELSA's main folder. That sub-folder is named BACKUP.

In the BACKUP folder, another sub-folder will be created, this one named with the revision number that you are updating from and the one that you are updating to. Example:

X:\ELSA\BACKUP\43.0.2.5-43.0.2.6

Yet another sub-folder is created, this one named after the date and time when the update is made. Example:

X:\ELSA\BACKUP\43.0.2.5-43.0.2.6\202510151611

This should be read as 2025-10-15 16.11.

In other words, October 15, 2025 at 11 minutes past 4 pm.

The folder named with date and time corresponds directly to cadett ELSA's main folder, normally named ELSA. Files originally placed in the main folder will be moved to this folder. Files originally placed in sub-folders of the main folder, will be moved to sub-folders named identically with the original installation. Example:

Original file:

X:\ELSA\I\SCR32\0FIX_LIN.ESC

Backup moved to:

X:\ELSA\BACKUP\43.0.2.5-43.0.2.6\202510151611\I\SCR32\0FIX_LIN.ESC
