The TARGET databases for terminal lists, including DIN cable and terminal plans, are correctly sorted from start. A terminal list can be sorted correctly in one way only, namely in the order that the terminals are mounted physically. Any resorting will inevitably constitute an error. Therefore, terminal lists should never be sorted at all. However, page breaks and line breaks may be useful, especially page breaks for terminal groups.

The DIN cable and terminal plan is a special case, where the sorting should in principle always be exactly the same, namely according to the figure above, with an explanation in the table below.

Report variable

Description

!TSORT

TSORT is short for Table SORTing. This variable gives a value that shifts with the wire-numbering range, which is typically location. If location is regarded as a sub-part of function/plant, which is very common, the wire-numbering range shifts for each combination of function/plant and location.

The wire-numbering range is controlled by the Overall sorting project parameter.

!PPOST

Terminal group name with function/plant and location excluded

!DSORT

DSORT is short for Din SORTing. The purpose of this variable is to handle the case where the maximum number of cables has been exceeded on a sheet. An extra page break is then forced using this variable, whereby the report continues with remaining cables on the next sheet.
