Instead of inserting symbols by selecting them in the Symbol Insert Tool, and then specify which resource to associate the symbol to by adding an index, you can do it the other way around. By starting with a selection of resource in the Catalogue, you can get an automatic selection of a proper symbol, and simultaneously get Resource data like Index and Electrical data filled-in automatically. In other words, this is a way of saving some time, and to reduce the risk of errors.

 

The Insert using catalogue... macro enables you to accomplish those desirable goals.
