Catalogue data in connection lists

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Normally, information from the Catalogue can only be displayed in device lists, unless the information is transferred to an attribute of involved symbols.

With the extended feature that is described here, it is however possible to transfer information from any field in the *KT.DBF main table of the Catalogue, to the *G.DBF main TARGET database. Thereby, it will be possible to present that information in any report that refers to *G.DBF, for example all connection lists, like wire lists, cable lists, and terminal lists.

To accomplish this, you first have to specify which fields in the *KT.DBF that should be transferred to the *G.DBF. The specification of the fields in question is done in a configuration file called CATFIELDSINGDB.INI, which is located in the \ELSA\SYSTEM directory. Even user defined Catalogue fields are supported in this regard, since they are also part of the *KT.DBF. Please use the link to the sub-topic in question for a detailed description of the configuration file.

You then have to define report variables for the information in question. When doing so, it is important to avoid conflicts with existing variables. Please also consider the setting of Main table priority which you find a description of using the link.

Up to five report variables for each Catalogue field may be needed. A description of these five cases and how corresponding variables are defined is found in a sub-topic named Report variables for Catalogue fields in connection lists.

The fields in the Catalogue that are available for this feature are listed in a sub-topic named Available standard Catalogue fields.

Please refer to the sub-topics listed below for more details.
