With the Cancel button, you exit the simplified Terminal symbol dialogue discarding changes that you have made in the dialogue.

 

What happens next depends on the circumstances. If you are in the process of inserting multiple terminals, for example on several lines, a dialogue box for the next terminal may appear. If you, on the other hand, are editing a single terminal, nothing more will happen.
