Wire-numbering when reading data

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If this feature is not active, wires which do not have a wire-number in the circuit diagram will be presented as unnumbered in the list. This has several advantages. One of them is that it is then easier to see which wires that are “old”, and which wires are “new”, for example when you are working with revisions.

However, in some cases it might be an unnecessary step to first present the list without wire-numbers, and then manually clicking the Number button to introduce wire-numbers, which often is a prerequisite for further work. Partly, it is also a waste of computing power since the presentation of an unnumbered list requires just about the same amount of computation as a complete wire-numbering. Both these operations can therefore be combined in one single calculation, which is faster than doing them one after the other. If you activate this feature, wire-numbering is done directly when you press Collect, including the first collection which is done automatically when you activate the wire list for the first time in a project. (This assumes that you have activated automatic collection. Please refer to the Automatic collect topic for an explanation of that).

If you activate this feature, you will in other words never see an unnumbered wire list, which can be both good and bad.
