Short project name

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The short project name is an internal key to, or identifier for, the project. By default it consists of an encoded time stamp created to guarantee uniqueness. The only mandatory requirement, besides maximum length and allowed characters, is that it must be unique.

The short project name may be used, among other things, as default for the directory names of the SOURCE, and TARGET directories. Furthermore, the short project name is used for naming some databases and other system files in the project.

The short project name is given to a project when it is created.

The short project name of an existing project cannot be changed. The only way to "change" it, is to create a new project as a copy of the existing one, and to give that new project the desired short project name.

Please note that the short project name can be a maximum of seven characters long and may only consist of the letters A-Z, the digits 0-9, underscore ("_"), and minus/dash ("-").
