Distinguish UPPER and lower case letters in item designations

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The status of this check-box decides if cadett ELSA should distinguish between lower and UPPER case letters in item designations. If you activate this feature, by ticking the check-box, you will be able to use lower case letters in item designations, like for instance -k1. That is otherwise not possible. If this feature was deactivated, -k1 would automatically be changed to -K1 with upper case letters, when you enter it in the dialogue box.

If this feature is activated, -K1 and –k1 will be interpreted as two different item designations. A help symbol named -k1 will for example not connect to a main symbol named -K1.

Please note, once again, that if you do not distinguish between upper and lower case letters, all letters in the item designations will be treated as upper case, regardless of how you enter them. In reports and elsewhere, they will always be presented with upper case letters.
