If you activate project parameter Sub-sorting controlled by cabinet layout, the connection generation takes the cabinet layout into consideration, if it exists.

 

The symbols in the cabinet layout are help symbols related to the main symbols in the circuit diagram. Therefore, the cabinet layout symbols will also have cross-references to the circuit diagrams.

 

For the relationship between cabinet layout and circuit diagram to work correctly, it is very important to define the item designations correctly. If you choose to do an automatic selection of symbols for the cabinet layout, this will, however, become correct automatically.

 

A way of controlling the wiring even better in the cabinet layout, is to add so-called location boxes. That technique is described in a separate sub-topic listed below.
