The two alternatives above are of course not the only ones. You could for example have a vertical form that is rotated 90 degrees clockwise from the horizontal. A horizontal form that is upside down (rotated 180 degrees from horizontal) is another possibility. A third possibility is a mirrored form and even other variants are possible. Not to rule anything out, you may control the sorting priority for each axis yourself. This is done by selecting Other form. Thereafter you may configure the parameters located to the right according to the type of form you are currently working with.

Here you can decide if you prioritize the X or the Y direction when sorting.
In a typical horizontal form, you would prioritize the Y direction, since which row a text is located in, is "more important" than where in that row the text is located.
If the rows are vertical, the opposite would be true. Then the X direction must be prioritized, since the row is decided by the X coordinate.

Please remember that the positive X axis is directed to the right.
You can choose between Increasing or Decreasing. Increasing means that you sort from left to right, meaning in the same direction as the positive X axis.

Y direction

Please remember that the positive Y axis is directed upwards.
Even here you can choose between Increasing or Decreasing. Increasing in this case means that you sort in the direction of the positive Y axis, meaning from the bottom and upwards. To sort from the top and downwards, you should select Decreasing.
