The title field

One problem associated with the preparation, is where to put the title field in the sorting order. In a conventional horizontal form, the title field is normally located at the bottom. If the title field would be sorted according to its coordinates, it would be placed at the bottom, but obviously it does not belong there.

If the information in the selected database is insufficient for filling in an entire page, the report generation will be finished before the Report Generator has reached the title field. That would result in an empty title field, usually at the last sheet of the report.

To avoid such problems, the DXF preparation procedure uses a simple “trick”. When sorting, all blocks are placed prior to conventional texts, independent of other settings. Since the report variables in the title field usually are attributes located in blocks, they are placed ahead of everything else, and the problem with empty title fields is thereby avoided.

This is handled automatically and therefore nothing to worry about, but it may of course be interesting to know why this works when it, at first glance, should not.
