If the Reduce double separator characters feature has been activated in order to fully support IEC1346 transitions, as described in the two sub-topics Background IEC1346 transitions and Implementation of IEC1346, an automatic search in all item designations for double separator characters will take place, to remove one of the two characters, when they are found.

A double separator character is defined as two equal separator characters directly after one another, like "==", "++" or "--".

Which characters that should be regarded as separator characters, is defined in this project parameter. You simply enter the characters to search for. Typically that would be "=+-", but you can add or remove characters at your own wish.
