To be able to fully support IEC1346 transitions, as described in the two previous sub-topics (Background IEC1346 transitions and Implementation of IEC1346), the Reduce double separator characters feature should be activated.

 

The feature in question will automatically search all item designations for double separator characters and remove one of the characters, when they are found.

 

A double separator character is defined as two equal separator characters directly after one another. Which characters should be regarded as separator characters, is defined in the Separator characters for reduction project parameter, located directly below.
