Edit variable declaration

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

To the right of the field for selection of variable declaration database, you will find the Edit function. This allows you to edit the currently selected database. You may for example add or change descriptions of existing report variables, change their names (although we advise you not to), change the meaning of variables or add completely new ones. Mostly, this editor is used to add new variables. One situation when it is useful to add your own report variables is when creating tables of contents and you have a user defined drawing frame and mask. These frames may contain user-defined fields for which no report variables are predefined. By creating new report variables and bind them to these fields in the archive database, the Report Generator may be configured to automatically create table of contents containing information from user-defined fields.

How to edit NVARDEC is described separately. Please refer to the Edit report variable declarations topic.

It is also possible to define report variables corresponding to user defined attributes in symbols. A description of how to perform this is found in the User defined attributes topic.
