Object selection Fence

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This is a standard AutoCAD sub-command, which you can use when AutoCAD is prompting you to select objects.

The Fence object selection is used to select objects with a Fence. After selecting Fence when AutoCAD prompts you to select objects, you

specify a number of points which create a fence that passes through the objects that you want to select.

The AutoCAD Fence selection tool thereby selects all objects that the drawn, dashed line crosses, making it ideal for selecting specific items in complex or crowded drawing sheets. It works within most modify commands (like TRIM, ERASE, or MOVE) and creates a multi-segment line, differing from rectangular crossings or windows.
