The second example, is a refinement of the first. Wires to terminals are here numbered with a second counter and a prefix of 5. Any ambiguities caused by the fact that multiple terminals may have the same terminal number, for example if they belong to different terminal groups, are thereby avoided.
A further improvement, is that wires between numbering areas are separated and numbered with a third counter and a prefix of 9. That will affect all wires between numbering areas, regardless of the connection type.
