Wild-cards

You can also use the wild-card character star (“*”) when you specify your comparison text.

 

The table below presents a few examples of how to use such wild-cards.

Explanation

=A*

Matches everything beginning with =A

 

*A*

Matches everything that contains an A

 

*3

Matches everything that ends with 3, like  both =A3 and =B3, but not =A30 since the latter ends with zero

 

*3*

Matches everything that contains 3, like =A3, =B3, and =A30

 

 

The use of wild-cards, requires that you enter the comparison text manually.
