Changing wire-number

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This sub-topic describes how changes to wire-numbers are performed.

Start by selecting the wires in the dialogue that you want to renumber. If you want to renumber all of them, you can either select them all or you can choose not to select anything. Both these options give the same result, namely that all wires in the dialogue are affected. You can use SHIFT and CTRL in the normal way to do this selection.

Enter a start value in the Start field in the wire-number section, in the lower left part of the dialogue. Instead of typing directly in the field, you can increment (increase) or decrement (decrease) the specified value by using the arrows to the right of the field.

In a similar manner, enter a suitable step value in the Step field.

In the Prefix and Suffix fields, you can enter any characters that should be added in the beginning and/or in the end of all wire-numbers. You can, for instance, use a zero as Prefix and ordinary integers as Start and Step values. Then, if, for instance, the start value is 200 and the step value 1, the number series would be 0200, 0201, 0202, and so forth, with zero as prefix.

To apply the specified numbering in the dialogue, you click the Insert button.

If you want these changes to be inserted into the list itself, you click the OK button in the lower right corner of the dialogue.

Please note then, that all wires which have been affected by your editing, will be marked with ticks.
