Cut

The Cut command is used in combination with one of the two Paste commands. Using Cut/Paste, you can move drawing sheets from one place to another, between projects or within a project. Moving drawing sheets within a project may be useful to rearrange the sequence between drawing sheets with the same document codes.

The Cut command is available in the context menu of the survey.

In short, you select the drawing sheets to cut and then issue the Cut command. You then use either Paste or Paste between to paste the drawing sheets where you like them to be.

You can select one or multiple sheets to cut. You can paste in the same project or in another project. You can cut from either the SOURCE or the TARGET directory. You can paste in either the SOURCE or the TARGET directory. These variations can be combined arbitrarily.

In more detail, please do as follows:

Using ordinary Windows <SHIFT> and/or <CTRL>, please select the drawing sheet or drawing sheets that you want to cut. You do that in the survey of either the SOURCE or the TARGET directory.

Then issue the Cut command, which is available in the context menu of the survey:

If you want to paste the drawing sheets in another project, you open that project and re-enter the Drawing Manager. If you want to paste the drawing sheets in the same project, simply continue with the next step.

Set focus on either the SOURCE or the TARGET directory by clicking the associated survey. If you want to paste the sheets in the same directory as where the originals are located, focus is already where it should be, and you can simply continue with the next step.

Finally, paste using either the Paste or the Paste between command.

In essence, Cut works in the same way as Copy, with the obvious difference that the originals disappear from their original place when using Cut, while being left untouched when using Copy. To find more details about Cut/Paste/Paste between, you are therefore referred to the Copy topic, and especially the sub-topics of that, where further details are discussed.
