Dimensioning of servers and workstations

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

When the server is concerned, the basic rule is that the server should be at least as powerful as the most powerful workstation. In that way, bottle-neck limitations in overall performance, which would otherwise be the consequence, are avoided.

A dedicated server is strongly recommended, meaning that the server should be used for cadett ELSA only, not for other purposes as well.

Virtual servers are not only supported but also highly recommended. There are no problems with the virtual server for cadett ELSA sharing the same hardware with other virtual servers, provided that the performance requirements are met.

Thin client solutions require a much more powerful server. Please refer to the Servers for thin client solutions topic.
