Catalogue Hyperlinks

A possibility to add a hyperlink to each resource in the Catalogue has been added.

 

The hyperlink may refer to a file, using a file name specification including a search path based on a mapped drive or a UNC path.

The hyperlink may also refer to any location on the web.

 

Using a button next to this new field, anything referred with the link will be presented.

How to use Catalogue Hyperlinks

A hyperlink can be added for each resource in the Catalogue. The hyperlink should be entered in the Information sheet field, as shown in the figure above.

 

To view the document, web page or similar that the hyperlink refers to, you simply click the Open button to the right of the field.

 

The hyperlink can refer to a file, a web page or similar on your own PC, on the local area network or anywhere on the web.

 

Examples of valid hyperlinks:

 

http://www.cadett.se

http://www.cadett.se/pdf/Sample.pdf

C:\TEMP\Sample.pdf

X:\PROJ\123456\TARGET\123456.PDF

\\SERVER\PROJ\DIR\SAMPLE.XLSX

 

 

Technical details

The implementation of this new feature has required a new DBF file to be added to the Catalogue. The new database file is called *IL.DBF, where IL means “Information Link”.
