Another very important area that is standardised is the item designations or, as it is denoted now, reference designations. An older standard that is still in use here and there, is IEC750, but that standard was replaced with the new IEC1346 already in the early 2000's.
The differences that the new standard implies are small, relatively seen, when it concerns examples of the type that we will consider here. The differences in the new standard, IEC1346, could be regarded as primarily aimed at larger plants and the demands that appear for them.
