Storage of document code definitions

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The definition of the document codes of a project, and the tree structures that they are part of, are stored in a database file located in the SOURCE directory of the project in question. The database file is called DOCUMENTCODES.DBF and it constitutes a counterpart to the *R.DBF that was used in cadett ELSA R32 and older.

The corresponding central definition of document codes is stored in a similar database file with the same file name: DOCUMENTCODES.DBF.  The central database file is located in the \ELSA\SYSTEM directory (or similar) and it replaces the KLSBAUM.DBF database file, which was used in cadett ELSA R32 and older.

In contrast to the situation in cadett ELSA R32 and older, the central and the project related databases share the same format. In other words, somebody who is technically versed could, if desired, do a manual copy in one direction or the other, and that would work just fine. Such operations have not been possible before.
