<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Index/electrical data from catalogue… |
This is primarily a legacy feature. With the simple command, you can get index and electrical data directly from the Catalogue to any selected symbol, without passing any dialogue boxes.
Using this command, you can fetch data – primarily index and electrical data – from the Catalogue. The information is transferred to the attributes of the symbol you select.
Use the command in the following way:
•Select the Index/electrical data from catalogue... command. Pick the symbol to which the information shall be written.
•If you pick a symbol that lacks index, you will be given an error message. Otherwise you will get directly into the Catalogue. A filter will automatically be set for the Resource Category that the selected symbol belongs to, when applicable
•Select a suitable resource in the Catalogue and then confirm your selection with the Open button.
•Index and electrical data will be transferred to the corresponding attributes of the symbol.
In the Catalogue, it is possible to turn off the filter to be able to select a resource from another Resource Category than the one that the automatically activated filter shows.
If the resource that you search for is missing, it is possible to use the ordinary functions of the catalogue to add a new resource. Thereafter you may select the new resource and confirm with the Open button in the usual way. It is in other words possible to do all these operations in one single sequence.
Naturally, it is also possible to change to another Catalogue than the default one for the project. You may in other words use any number of Catalogues simultaneously.
Technical information
In cadett ELSA, it is possible to transfer any information you prefer from the Catalogue to any attributes you prefer in the symbols. This is true for all standard fields in the Catalogue and in the same way also for all user defined fields.
It is also true for all standard attributes, and in the same way also for all imaginable user defined attributes, as long as you give them reasonable names.
The configuration of that functionality is made separately in a database file called INSDTA.DBF.
