The Symbol Generator is used to create new symbols and to adjust existing ones.

 

Editing an existing symbol and saving it under a new name is in fact one of the better ways to create a new symbol, but it is of course also possible to create symbols from scratch, without anything to start with.

 

Generally speaking, adjusting existing symbols that are in frequent use, is something that should be done with caution and only after careful consideration. The reasons why, will be discussed further on.
