A very useful feature in cadett ELSA is that the cabinet layout can be used for optimisation of the wiring. That is done by using information from the cabinet layout for the sorting that is made of the connection points within each wire-chain (electrical node), to control the wiring order and the wire numbering.
It is not hard to realise that controlling the wiring with a cabinet layout that shows how the finished cabinet will actually look, and how the individual devices will be placed relative to one another, is the best way of achieving an optimal wiring.
A cabinet layout that will be used in that manner should be created in the SOURCE directory using the Cabinet Layout module of cadett ELSA. Such a cabinet layout consists of help symbols that refer to the main symbols of the circuit diagrams. For that reason, the cabinet layout will have cross-references from each cabinet layout symbol to the corresponding main symbol in the circuit diagrams.

The positions of the cabinet layout symbols are then taken into account when sorting the connection points within each wire-chain. To manually assist in that process, it is possible to add so-called "location boxes". Using those, you can explain to the software, that certain devices that are seemingly close to one another in the cabinet layout, should nevertheless be regarded as being more distant. That could for example be used for the door, or for separate mounting rails.
