Central report definitions in network installations

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Central report definitions are write-protected and may therefore not be modified directly. Instead, follow the procedure described below.

Create a local copy of the report definition you want to modify by opening the central one. Then make your changes in the local copy. Finally, copy of the local copy and place that copy centrally. In that way, the original central report definition is overwritten and thereby changed. (How to copy report definitions is described in a topic named Copy a report definition).

Please remember that if you already have a local copy, it may be old and therefore not identical with the central report definition. If that is the case, it might in some cases be a good idea to start with the central version, not the local one. To do so, first delete the old local copy and then make a new local copy by opening the central report definition. If you wish to keep the old local copy, make a local copy with another report name. (How to delete report definitions is described in a topic named Delete a report definition).
