Standard variables are used for several common concepts like item designations, attribute data and more. These concepts can be used in both device lists and connection lists, like wire lists, cable lists and terminal lists. Therefore, up to five variables are available for each concept, to be used in all those contexts.

 

*A.DBF is used for connection lists, both wire lists and cable lists, including cable core lists. A special variant of that is the *I.DBF which constitutes a bidirectional version of *A.DBF and which uses the same report variables.

 

*B.DBF is used for terminal lists. *X.DBF is an extended version intended for so-called DIN cable and terminal plans. It uses the same report variables but with several additions that are described further on.
