Excel Report Generation

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Report Generator supports not only generation of reports as text and AutoCAD DXF files, but also as Excel files.

Excel reports use two forms instead of only one as with DXF and FMT reports:

The first one is an Excel sheet containing headlines, title fields, columns, rows and so on. It is the definition of how the report will look like when it is ready.

The second one is a special kind of FMT text form. The FMT form contains definitions of which information should be entered in the columns of the Excel sheet, the title field information that should be entered and the reference to the Excel form, to name the most important parts.

The Report definition contains an activated call to a special program – EXCELRAPP.EXE – that is used to transfer information to the Excel sheet.
