How document codes are treated when copying

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The document codes may be handled somewhat differently dependent on whether you copy between projects or within a project. The reason is that the file name composition may differ from one project to another but never within a project.

If the first of the sheets that you have selected has a correct file name according to the project parameters of the project that you are pasting in, the document codes of the original will be used as default for the copies. If you like, you can of course select something else.

If the first of the sheets that you have selected, has an incorrect file name according to the project parameters of the project that you are pasting in (for example incorrect length), no default values for the document codes will be presented. You will then have to select the document codes to use yourself.

In other words, copying between projects using identical project parameters, works in exactly the same way as copying within a project. If you copy between two projects where the file name compositions are not identical, the behaviour will however be somewhat different. The reason for that becomes obvious when you think about the subject more deeply.
