X (Start point)

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The x coordinate is the x coordinate of the left edge of the first column counted from left to right.

The first column usually does not start right at the edge of the paper, but a small distance from that. In other words, there can be a distance between the edge of the paper and the beginning of the first column.

It is common practice to locate the lower left corner of the paper in origo (0,0) of the drawing sheet. The horizontal distance between origo (in an AutoCAD sense, meaning origo of WCS) and the start point for the first column, should be specified here. The distance shall be expressed in millimetres.

Normally, the starting point is located in the left side of the drawing sheet, and the columns are counted from left to right. It is, however also possible to place the starting point to the right in the drawing sheet, and to count the columns from that starting point, meaning from right to left.
