When the translator translates a word or a phrase, it creates an invisible block called CAELTRANSBLK at the same insertion point as the attribute or text that has been translated. In this block the original text is saved together with an information of whether the text/attribute should be removed.

 

When a drawing is translated, the first thing that is done is to find these blocks and restore the drawing sheets to their original states. When that is ready, the actual translation is made.

 

So if you have drawing sheets with English texts and want to translate them to Swedish, you select to translate from English to Swedish. As a result you will have drawing sheets with Swedish text. If you then want to translate to German instead, you should choose translation from English to German, not from Swedish as you might think. You should always keep the original language in the “From side”.

 

The drawing sheets are always translated from their original state. This is true every time. You can never translate in multiple steps, unless you manually remove the CAELTRANSBLK blocks from the drawing sheets. Then the translator will not be able to detect that the drawing sheets have in fact been translated before.
